I am writing this blog post in response to the modern society we live in today; and the impact small things have on people. I started Internet Marketing when I was virtually penniless. I remember going to University when I had virtually no money even to buy myself lunch. I used to carry a wallet with me which contained a few copper pennies and all my credit cards that were making me go insane.
I remember waking up 6 am everyday to catch the train to University. It was freezing cold and all I could think of was studying hard for my Marketing degree. Marketing was always my passion and to study for a degree was a one step forward for me. Academically I was always consistent with my grades and I remember always eager to beat my fellow students in my assignments.
However, after 4 years of studying for my degree (including a few months spent studying in South Africa) I came to the conclusion that my real talent was being wasted. Did I really want to pursue a career in the corporate world? Did I really want to push for a promotion or kiss ass just to get to the top?
These questions came to me on a daily basis. All my friends boasted on how much money they were making in their “jobs” and I was still stuck in the middle….
That is when Internet Marketing changed my whole life and to this day I am thankful that I took the right steps in proving many people wrong. I remember a few years ago when I borrowed so much money from my friends and family that I was left with thousands and thousands of dollars of debt.
My mother lent me a $3000 loan and a few friends lent me hundreds of dollars. Would I able to this loan back? Would I be in a position to work my ass off and pay every single penny?
Soon the answers to these questions became a reality. I virtually single handedly paid off all my loans and managed to pay every single penny back to my mother. Mothers work hard and I felt I would repay her by not giving up in my pursue for financial freedom…
Today I look back and reflect on the dilemma that I was going through. They were tough times but I managed to overcome them.
And now that I am making an honest living online I have to deal with a back log of racial abuse, empty threats and homophobic comments on my blog and email. One guy also went as far as wanting to “kill me” just because he does not like me. Is this the society we live in today? People are dying in Pakistan of starvation and floods and yet all we can do is hate each other.
Greed has took over and the power of money has brainwashed some people. People have set up “Blackhat” communities online where all they do is “name and shame” people and how much they want to “kill them”. People are abusing each other. The hunger and thirst for money is making people lose their way.
And then there are those people who resort to leaving abuse on people’s blogs, emails and other forums. These are the people who sit at home, make websites on people and join online communities. Like a violent mob they express their rage at “guru X” and “Guru Y” and resort to labelling them the “Rehash king” or “the Fake Machine”. These people will spend hours on forums expressing their anger at other people and their sorrows – they will feel that they are wasting their efforts and not getting anywhere, whereas the “Rehash machine” is putting food on the table for his family.
Internet Marketing will eventually become a crowded place where every man and his god will start selling an E-book on “how to make $100 in 24 hours”; even though they will never have made a dime online. These people will try to befriend you, they will email you and they will be your “best friend” in a bid to get a “JV” or a “review” from you. Once these people become successful they will turn around and give you two fingers and say “hahah, I made it bitch, I’ am sipping iced tea like the Queen in NEW YORK BABY”…
We often make the mistake of sometimes trusting people too much online. We often think that our next project will be “the next big thing” only to find ourselves working with someone who is motivated by greed and lust for power. Unfortunately, there are some people who are only there to make a quick buck online and then wave cash in front of their friends faces…
And then there are the honest people.
The people who are working 12 hours a week in a bid to save their marriage, pay their debts and to support their family. These people will work their asses off to put food on the table. These are the people who will be motivated by setting a goal and working towards it. These people are the ones who will bust a gut and vouch for you. Once these people become successful they are under the microscope and this is when they are going to start getting a lot of abuse.
Let me go through the successful people who have generated billions of dollars.
Bill Gates – This guy is a genius. He turned a small idea into a billion dollar business but is he liked by everyone?
Type “I hate Bill Gates” on Google and you will find these moronic fools who will love to “punch his lights out”. But does Mr Gates care? I doubt it.
Richard Branson – This guy’s virgin empire is everywhere. I remember quenching my thirst with Virgin Cola and buying my first Virgin mobile phone and using Virgin Airlines. And yet there are these moronic fools who think Richard Branson is a scammer.
These same fools would love to rip his beard off and tape it next to their computer so they can boast “I pulled Branson’s beard” – anyone want to bid?
The point I am trying to make is that I no longer consider empty threats and people making “false lies” about me in forums. I only strive to work hard and be the best in what I have.
I feel everyone has a god given talent in life. My talent is creating products and selling it to a market who demands that product. The endless abusive comments in my emails and blog are only going to make me stronger.
In fact I have considered adding a “hate section” so people can leave their abuse.
The fact of the matter is I am different to other marketers because I tell it like it is. I do not kiss ass or send endless emails or browse the JV Notify Pro forum in a bid to get a “guru” to promote my product. I am my own guru – love me or hate me Imran Naseem is here to stay.
Imran Naseem – a rehash king? An asshole? Or a genius who will be around for many years. You be the judge.
